PixLush is a photo editor. Most of what it does happens on your phone and involves nobody else. This explains the parts that do not.
Filters, brightness and colour, crop, backgrounds, stickers, text and frames are all applied on your phone. Those photos are never uploaded, and the editor works with no connection at all.
The AI features are the exception, and they are the only exception. They are described in full in the next section.
What is sent. When you use an AI feature — Just Ask, Erase or Replace, AI Upscale, Captions, Avatars, Motion (a photo turned into a short video), or the one-tap AI presets in the editor — PixLush sends the photo you chose for that edit, as it appears on your screen, together with the words you typed. For Erase or Replace it also sends a short description of where on the photo you painted. If you choose a reference photo, that photo is sent with it. Create an image sends only the words. Nothing else is sent: not your other photos, your contacts or your location.
How it is collected. Only when you start an AI edit yourself, by tapping it. Nothing is sent in the background, and nothing is sent by any other part of the app.
Who receives it. Google. Edits and captions are made by Google Gemini and Motion videos by Google Veo, which PixLush reaches through Firebase AI Logic and Google Cloud, both Google services. The request is made through your PixLush session, so that your AI edits can be counted.
What it is used for. To make the edit, caption or video you asked for and return it to your phone, and for nothing else. It is not used for advertising, it is not used to build a profile of you, and Google does not use it to train its AI models. We do not keep a copy of your photo or of the result on any server.
Your permission. PixLush asks before the first AI edit and sends nothing until you allow it. You can withdraw that permission at any time under You › AI data sharing; the AI features will then ask again before anything is sent. The rest of the app works without it.
How it is protected. Your photo travels encrypted. Google processes it on our behalf under its data processing terms, which commit it to protecting your data to the same standard as this policy.
An account is optional. It exists so a Pro subscription follows you to a new phone and so your daily free edits are counted somewhere you cannot edit.
If you create one we store your email address, and against it two things: how many AI edits you have used today, and whether your subscription is active. That is the whole record. Your password is handled by Google Firebase and is never visible to us.
Subscriptions are bought and managed through the App Store or Google Play. Card details, billing addresses and payment history stay with them — they never reach us. All we are told is whether a subscription is active.
There is no analytics in this app. No crash reporting, no tracking across other apps or websites, and no profile built from what you edit. We do not sell personal information. The one network the free app does talk to for anything other than your own request is the advertising one described next.
The free app shows ads, served by Google AdMob, between saves and when you choose to watch one for an extra AI edit. PixLush Pro removes them. To show an ad, AdMob receives your device’s advertising identifier, its type and system version, your approximate location from the network address, and the fact that the ad was shown or tapped — never your photos, your edits or your account. Where the law requires it, you are asked before any ad is loaded whether ads may be personalised; you can change that answer and limit the advertising identifier in your phone’s settings. Google’s use of this data is governed by its own privacy policy.
If you invite a friend, ChottuLink turns your invite into a short link and, when the link is tapped, records the tap and matches it to the app install so the friend gets the credit without typing a code. For that match it sees the device type, system version and network address of the phone that tapped, and nothing about your photos. We keep a record of which account invited which, and nothing more. Google Firebase provides sign-in and the small account record described above. Google Gemini and Google Veo, reached through Firebase, produce the AI edits, as set out under “AI edits and Google”. Google AdMob shows the ads in the free app, as set out under “Advertising”. Each of them handles your data only to provide that service, under terms that require the same protection this policy gives it. Apple and Google handle payments. Sticker artwork is fetched from Iconify when you open the sticker picker; that request carries no photo and no account information.
You can delete your account from inside the app: You → Account → Delete account. It removes your sign-in and the account record, permanently and immediately.
Two things it does not touch, both on purpose. Photos and edits saved on your phone stay on your phone. And a subscription is not cancelled by deleting an account — it lives with Apple or Google, and only they can cancel it, so do that first or you will keep being charged.
PixLush is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
If this policy changes materially we will update it here and in the app, and change the date at the top.
